The Classic provides your roofscape with all of the functions of a good quality roof underlay and is proven to give many benefits over traditional bituminous underlays, helping the prevention of condensation build up in the roof space.

Weathertightness is an important aspect to consider when constructing any roof. The Classic is a great option for that secondary line of defence as it protects the internal roof substructure against wind driven rain and snow, safely draining it away to the gutter or other rainwater system. The Sandtoft Breather Membrane Koratech VPM Classic underlay also reduces the wind loading on roof tiles and acts as a temporary roof covering for up to a month prior to the installation of tiles or slates during building construction.

How much should I allow the underlay to drape upon installation?
When laying Classic counter battens or rafters, allow the classic underlay to drape approximately 10mm. This allows any moisture on the upper surface of the underlay to drain away safely under the tile/slate battens, preventing ponding behind or wetting of the battens.
